Selected Game Boy Works Introduction by the artist
Think of my Game Boy music as nostalgic memories of the days when the old grey Game Boy was the console to play. I've always seem to produce haunting melodies in my electronic music and I continued doing that in this form of audio medley. I never sampled any Game Boy game music but instead created the sounds from scratch - this is how chip music is made

Chrome Cruiser : I was going for something comical, a subtle sly smile, and a pinch of steady groove. Some of the melodies have these jazzy riffs combined with techno chords. It's cheesy but tempting to bop your head listening to this song.

Coming in for landing, we're home : This is set as the last track in the album I'm currently producing because it really feels like it ends the credits to a video game. There's a section that has pop all over it with the percussion broken down but it's surrounded by lovely poetry.

Dance Samurai Dance : I produced this track after a friend insisted that I create something that gave more punch, so I did my best in creating something that sounds like techno with Salsa beats. The name of the track describes the rest.

From Booze to Groove : I wanted more complexity and fluid motion so I challenged myself in creating a song that transitioned from one point to another without going back, like a live DJ set. The first part of the song goes everywhere, each audio channel intertwining with the other in a staggering mix of drunkenness. The second part of the song starts to control itself in a nice addictive dance beat.

Hot Shocker : Another 'hard-hitting' track but this time the percussion is more electronic. I really liked how the sounds came out on this track. They all seem to fit very well together.

Voyage (Mario Land 2 - 6 Golden Coins) : I remember playing this game when it came out. There is this one song in the game that always stuck in my head because the small loop is so simple and yet so catchy. After searching online, I found the song and had a good listen. Then I thought, "Wouldn't it be great if I expanded further on this small track?" So I did. I recreated the sounds and notation and added my own beats and notes to the song. It's simply homage to a game I enjoyed playing when I was a kid.

You're a Hero on Level Zero : Again, there's Latin influence all over this song but with a twist of spooky riffs. The song beautifully ends in a fog of passion and mystery - a fine line between a hero who saved the day and a zero who was never given a chance.
